Study Material Information:
The Drywall Manual briefly covers the major topics of the State exam including Tools and Materials, Job Preparation, Attaching Drywall to Wood or Metal Framing, Semisolid and Solid Partitions, Metal Door Framing, Joint and Surface Treatments, Repairs in Drywall, Fire Resistance, Sound Control, and a glossary of terms. The Drywall Manual also includes the Health and Safety Orders and Drywall Review Questions.
Please be sure to study all of the practice exams. It is important to read and understand each question, and read every word of the explanations. It is necessary to learn the principles behind the question because the State’s questions may be worded differently. Do not memorize the sample practice exam questions.
This is a multiple-choice examination with four choices per question. Some questions require mathematical computation. Examination questions are written to provide only one BEST answer and are NOT written as trick questions.
There is no penalty for guessing. If you are unsure about a particular question, it is better to try to answer the question than to leave the question blank.
Ample time is provided to answer all examination questions, so be sure to read each question and its four choices completely and carefully before selecting the BEST possible answer to the question.
The work of a drywall contractor is mainly based on works like installing and laying out the gypsum and related wall-board assemblies that also include non-structural metal-framing, taping as well as texturing. It also includes such applications and compounds that that produce smooth, textured and continuous surfaces.
