The Covid Excuse

The Covid Excuse

Question, how many of you have heard someone use the Covid Excuse? The Covid Excuse is being used everywhere, from individuals to businesses to state agencies.

The Covid Excuse

Reminder, there are over 39 million people in this state, and there have only been 24,400+ confirmed cases! The odds of you catching the flu? Here’s the math:  0.06% That’s infinitesimal!

Examples:

I cannot go to work or stay at work because I am so stressed due to the Covid virus that is affecting us all!

I cannot focus on my job because I am so scared of getting the coronavirus!

Here is my favorite, from a CSLB application technician: “I have no control due to the current situation with COVID-19 health emergency.” No control? Over what? Doing your job?!

I’ve heard of employees that have already become so accustomed to working half days that if they are asked to work longer, they complain!  The twenty-somethings who went through the bailouts of 2009 already think the government is here to take care of them.  After this fiasco of worldly proportions, they’re going to expect the government to do absolutely everything for them. Including getting paid for doing nothing.

That’s not what this country was founded on.  If it was, we’d all be sitting back getting paid by the British Crown.

What the H is going on here people?!  The time is coming, hopefully very soon, that everyone is going to have to pull up their big boy panties and get back to work. I suggest they start doing it now.

What’s to come?

I don’t have to remind everyone about how this flu virus has destroyed business in this country, but if everyone takes the attitude that they can now slack off and use the Covid excuse, then this country may never (in the near future) recover.  And if we don’t recover, the United States of America that we know, love, and grew up in… will be lost forever.
