CSLB Testing Centers Update

Here’s a message from the CSLB regarding testing center re-openings. Note the comment that if you fail an exam, you’ll have to wait until September before retaking it.

“I wanted to send a brief note that CSLB will reopen many of its test centers this coming Monday the 15th. Public counters will continue to remain closed until further notice.

Please make sure candidates are aware they must bring a mask and wear it at all times during their exam or they will not be permitted to enter the test center.  Each candidate will be seated at a station where no one will be within 6 feet of their location.  If they have a question, CSLB staff will instruct them to go to the lobby and will discuss their question there while maintaining a six foot distance.

We are still determining whether the Berkley center will open on Monday the 15th.

Please also note that the Sacramento and Norwalk centers also have an annex that some candidates will be using. In Sacramento, the annex is in our board hearing room; in Norwalk, it will be in the Enforcement Suite on the 5th floor.

Under normal operations, test centers often seat candidates that arrive early.  Until further notice, no exam candidate will be able to enter the building sooner than 15 minutes prior to their scheduled exam.

Also for individuals that do not pass their exams, the soonest they will be able to reschedule their exam is for September.  This is to ensure everyone waiting gets an opportunity to take their exam.

Finally, Sacramento, Fresno, Norwalk, Oxnard, San Bernardino, and San Diego centers are running an evening exam session until our exam count gets lowered.  This session runs from 4:00-7:30 p.m.”
